The town is already in its December holiday season. Load shedding has been postponed for a while but the power situation needs to be continuously managed due to the expected tourists and non-resident home-owner influx.
Residents are encouraged to continue with the ‘good electricity management habits and practices’ already achieved during load-shedding. This notice is to remind and inform all municipal electricity users that EFFICIENT electricity use has become a priority for the Bitou Municipality residents.
Efficient power use is an excellent way to show that you care and are willing to do your bit to conserve electricity. This will be beneficial for the entire community and for future generations. This will also teach our children to save and we can proudly create and encourage a wise generation for the future.
The Bitou Municipality is appealing to all resident and visitors to use electricity efficiently during this season and adhere to any ESKOM warnings as advertised at any given time.
The municipality further appeals to all residence and holiday makers to assist in reducing unnecessary use of power by:
- Switching off all unnecessary loads when not required
- When possible shower at times from peak periods which are 08h00 – 10h00 and 17h:30 – 20h00.
- Should you notice or see any municipal equipment smoking or arcing please report it immediately.
For any further power saving tips, kindly go to the ESKOM website
Kindly report any defaulters by calling Peter Harpestad on (044) 501 3277 or 076 480 6134 during office hours or the call centre at 086 124 8686.
