Dear members and residents,
Re: Alienation of Properties
We have attached for your convenience the three municipal notices as well as our responses and formal objection. We would like to draw your attention specifically to our response to the second notice, communicated by the Mayor on April 3. In addition to general statements we made, we detail the new information by property and the unanswered questions that remain.
The Association believes that the additional information provided remains inadequate and that the overall process of participation is deficient. We urge you all to lodge your objections by 16 April, if you have not done so already. They should be sent to sdupreez@plett.gov.za, with copies to Mayor Swart (dswart@plett.gov.za) and Municipal Manager Memani (mmemani@plett.gov.za).
We remain committed to our stance that the properties need to be dealt with ward by ward with proper consultation and more transparency.
Thank you all for your engagement on this issue. It is our right to voice our objections as it is their obligation to listen.
Kind regards,
Steve Pattinson
Chairman
