Dear Members,
The Plett Ratepayers’ Association continues to take an active role in monitoring and evaluating management performance to demand and ensure responsiveness, openness and accountability from those running our affairs at all levels.
Our oversight report of the municipality’s Draft Annual Report is a very important part of the evaluation of the performance of the municipality and specifically that of the Political Office Bearers and Senior Officials. It raises questions and requests clarity for residents and ratepayers on concerning trends.
We have once again prepared a report this year and provided copies of our input to the Auditor-General, Bitou Audit Committee, and the Municipal Public Accounts Committee, requesting transparency of the administration’s performance so that the Annual Report achieves the purpose it is intended to.
All citizens are entitled to study the draft Annual Report and to give their input, questions and suggestions to the MPAC chairperson at rwillemse@plett.gov.za, to be incorporated in the draft annual report before it is presented to council. A link to the Draft Annual Report is below.
